Kuniyuki Takanami

Kuni grew up in Tokyo’s Itabashi, developing a passion for surfing after graduating Junior High School. Circumstances led him on an international search for new waves, friends, landscapes and experiences. Picking up photography as a hobby, his skills developed as he travelled the globe with camera in hand. Kuni spent 6 years as the chief photographer for the Japan Pro Surfing Association, and continues to freelance for surfing, fashion, outdoor and lifestyle magazines and brands throughout Japan and the world.
He is based between Japan and Australia with wife Angie and their son Ryder.

Angie Takanami

Born and bred in Adelaide, South Australia, it was inevitable that Angie would make a life out of being a surfing traveler. Both her grandfather and uncle were renowned Australian surfboard shapers, her Aunty a professional-level surfing judge, and all her cousins surfed competitively. Her parents traveled the world extensively before having kids and their stories and photographs are Angie’s driving inspiration.

Angie currently freelances as a writer for surfing, travel, outdoor and lifestyle magazines throughout Japan and the world whilst expanding Surfer’s Eyes independent media.

Angie is based between Australia and Japan with Kuni and Ryder.

Tyler Harder

Canadian born, Tyler has more than 10 years professional experience as a graphic and web designer, and 4 years as a project manager. Now residing in Tokyo, Japan, Tyler works regularly on a wide range of print productions and online media. He is currently the project director for Japan-i.jp and Poolmule.com, and works as a contract designer.

Elle

Moving from Adelaide to Sydney, Australia to follow a career in photography, Elle recently opened her first solo-exhibition in the Sydney MTV gallery. In the wake of her show, she designed and self-published a photo-journal book reflecting her travels throughout South Africa.
Elle works freelance throughout Australia and the world.

Pete Richardson
