Surfer’s Eyes is an independent media showcasing a complex variety of worldwide surf culture and lifestyles.

Angie and Kuni Takanami created the site to share their combined passion for writing, photography and travel and of course surfing. Since their first partnered collaboration with BLUE magazine on India’s surf scene in April 2009, Angie and Kuni have worked with some of Surfing’s most inspiring characters, contributing their features to magazines and online media around the world.

After the 2011 disaster in Japan, Angie and Kuni made the move to relocate their young family back to Byron Bay in Australia. Choosing a simplistic lifestyle, they continue to share their stories and photos with anyone who’s keen to be inspired, Surfer’s Eyes the platform for creativity.

“Surfer’s see the world differently. Surfer’s Eyes is a celebration of all the possible angles, with Mother Nature’s survival at the core. This website is our gift to the people and places we meet, to the surfing culture and lifestyle that dominates our entire existence, and to mother nature for sharing her oceans, her land and her air.
