Clean Water Courier Missions

As surfers we are bound to a burning desire to chase waves around the globe, enticed by the glossy photographs in magazines and the more modernized online short videos of seemingly perfect destinations hosting smoking waves. Here at Surfer’s Eyes we have made a lifestyle out of chasing surf, yet it is embedded into our backbones that we give back to the people, places and ultimately our planet-those who have given so much to us.
As mother nature’s children surfers seem to have a beautiful, uniform willingness to engage in local communities when traveling. And as we continue to clock up kilometers we too begin to recognize our own footprints left in our wake as we pass from village to village, town to town, coast to coast.
Thanks to organizations like Waves for Water, global wave hunters can unite in creating a positive impact on our world. Coming together with surf brand Hurley, Waves for Water and local community leaders have created a simple, flexible and highly effective method of delivering clean water across the world. Without needing to sign up for costly volunteer programs, surfers gearing up to hit the road can purchase specific w4w water filters and distribute them along their paths.
Heading to Bali? India? Panama? Pick up the filters and hook up with the local community leaders on the ground and know your next surf trip will be providing more than just good times and epic waves.
Surfers interested in joining guys like Rob Machado deliver the means to providing clean water around the globe can register and purchase filters online at the w4w website HERE
The Clean Water Courier (CWC) program is based on a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) humanitarian model. We are encouraging travelers to carry filters with them wherever they go. As a result, a grass roots distribution network is established, with filters reaching the farthest corners of the globe. We believe that people can do what they love, and help in the process. Go on a surf trip to Panama… or a mountain climbing expedition to Nepal… follow your passion. All we’re asking you to do is plug this social element into the equation. Instead of us providing you with a volunteer program where you have to come on a mission with us and do things the way we do… we want you to make the experience your own. We want to learn from you and hear all about your adventures. We will absolutely support you in this process, but ultimately we believe in your ability to go out there in the world and do this yourself… take charge, and be a true Agent of Change – Guerrilla-Style!
